Are All Chevy 6-Lug Patterns the Same?

Chevy Silverado Rim

Are you wondering if your Chevy Silverado lug pattern on your Hudson pickup is the same as other Chevy models? For the most part, yes, they are the same. Over the years many Chevy wheel bolt patterns have been reused, including the Chevy 6-lug pattern. For Chevy vehicles with Chevy 6-lug measurements, the pattern is usually a 6-lug, 5.5-inch standard or medium offset. This is the Chevy Silverado lug pattern also popular for other Chevy SUVs and pickup trucks.

What is the Chevy 6-Lug Pattern?

As mentioned above, the Chevy wheel bolt pattern has been reused over the years. Many car manufacturers do the same thing. Chances are that two vehicles with the Chevy 6-lug pattern will use the same measurements. Again, the most common Chevy 6-lug measurements are the 6×5.5-inch pattern. This Chevy wheel bolt pattern has been the Chevy Silverado lug pattern for 1500 4×4 pickup trucks since the 1960s.

Are 6×139.7 and 6×5.5 the Same Pattern?

This is one of the most common questions drivers ask about the Chevy 6-lug pattern. Technically, yes, they’re the same pattern. One is written using the metric system, and the other is written for the imperial system of measurement.

How Do You Measure the Chevy 6-Lug Pattern?

Odd-numbered lug patterns are simpler to measure than even-numbered ones. Measure in millimeters or inches — whichever you prefer. To make the first measurement, start from the center of one bolt, then measure to the center of the bolt that’s positioned on the opposite side. Next, you’ll measure one lug hole to the lug that’s positioned diagonally across.

If you’re unsure of which bolt pattern your vehicle requires, you can measure the bolts on your own, or you can ask a service technician at the service center at Sawyer Chevrolet, Inc.. Our service team is fully familiar with Chevy 6-lug measurements and can tell you which Chevy Silverado lug pattern is required for your pickup.
